“Ragging means any conduct by any student whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has an effect of testing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student indulging in undisciplined activities by any student or students which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student or asking any student to do any act which, such will not in the ordinary course do and which has the effect of causing or generating a sense of shame, or torment or embarrassment so as to adversely affect the physique”.
All necessary steps are taken to ensure ragging free environment on the campus which includes the following.
The college has constituted Anti-Ragging Committee for this purpose. For easy access to the students, the names, departments and mobile phone numbers of the Convener and Members of the Anti-Ragging Committee have been already circulated, distributed and displayed.
The students are hereby advised that they need not hesitate to report to any member of the Anti-Ragging Committee, any grievances arising due to any kind of misbehavior by a senior student. It is assured that once such an incident is established, severe action will be taken by the authorities against those responsible. All steps are being taken to restrain the seniors from resorting to any acts which may be construed as ragging so that the juniors can move freely in the College campus. Students may feel free to contact any authority of the College in case of any grievance or threat of ragging.
To ensure completely ragging free environment in the campus and in compliance with the letter from UGC from time to time, Anti-Ragging Committee has been constituted for the academic year 2019-2020 .
