The C.B.M College established a Women Empowerment Cell (WEC) in the year 2019 in order to create more awareness among women and also make them to realize that they are the real architects of the society. Each empowered women is powerful beyond measure and beautiful beyond description.

Objectives of Women Empowerment Cell

The cell aims to sow the seed of empowerment among the girl students and women staff in the college by briefing them the women related issues in the society and also guides them to face these upcoming challenges and problems courageously. Following are the objectives of the cell.

  • To sensitize and bring to light all the issues that are concerning the female gender of the society.
  • To describe and explain the women community about their rights regards to gender based violence.
  • To make certain space for women so that they could express their views and address their complaints and problems.
  • To provide essential counseling and necessary educational guidance.
  • To integrate women in all the development activities.
  • To make women physically and emotionally more rich so that they could face the awaiting challenges in the present community.
  • To inculcate the spirit of entrepreneurship in the minds of women so that they could be economically more independent.


Following are the initiatives taken by the cell to attain its objectives.

  • By organizing seminars, workshops, Awareness programmes and also scheduling guest lectures periodically to empower the minds of the women
  • By conducting competitions so that they could get a platform to exhibit their talents.
  • By taking necessary steps to celebrate Women’s day, Mothers day and Girl child day in order to realize their importance in the society.

Adding to this, WEC doesn’t stop here. It would definitely step ahead with more specific objectives and plans for the well being of the female community.
